The Morristown Cotillion is an opportunity for your child to attend a semi-formal dance with their classmates, meet new friends and have fun. In keeping its traditional focus on proper etiquette, the Cotillion continues to maintain the custom of receiving line, where the young guests shake hands with Patronesses and thank them for their invitation.
The Morristown Cotillion is open to 8th Graders from select schools near the Morristown, New Jersey area. Only students from participating schools may attend.
If your child did not receive a formal invitation and you are an 8th grader at one of the participating schools, please email our secretary, Shannon, to inquire.
Our goal is for all of the students from the participating schools to attend. There are scholarships available for those that need assistance with covering the cost of the ticket and/or attire. Please contact our secretary, Shannon, to inquire for your child or another student.
There is a Winter and Spring Cotillion. The specific date and details are provided in a formal invitation mailed to 8th graders from the participating schools.
Dresses of appropriate length or jackets and ties are required. Please note that jackets and footwear must remain on at all times during the dance, so please plan accordingly!
Heavy hors d'oeuvres and a dessert buffet will be served, along with sodas and bottled water.
Students should be dropped off in the front lobby at 7:30 pm, and there is a strict 10:00 pm pick-up. All students must stay until the 10:00 pick-up time. With over 350 students attending the Cotillion, carpooling is strongly encouraged.
Once you have registered your child for the dance, you will receive an email confirmation. Your child will not need to bring proof of registration to the dance, as they will be checked in off of our master list by our patronesses once they arrive.
